After spending the best part
of two years stored outside with a missing windscreen, this VW Golf Cabriolet
was finally released from a police compound. Although the inside of the car was
full of water, complete with grass growing out of the carpets, it was decided
to attempt a restoration.
After many hours of meticulous stripping,
panel beating and paintwork the car emerges with the bodywork restored to
concours condition. The long task of reassembly is now ready to begin. (Engine
and gearbox/radiator have already been fitted at this stage)
